Getting ready for spring..........

Hi Sweet-peas.....

We have been busy little garden bunnies........it was time to tidy up all the dead growth, cut back some trees and clean out the glasshouse. We also decided to make the big veggie garden more manageable by making smaller bricked areas and a path in the centre. I then made a stick tee-pee thing to grow some sweet-peas on in summer, that should keep the wee honey bees happy.
Look at the little green shoots that have poked their little heads out.......spring is on its way.

The big project that I was working on last week was an entry in to the Cadburys Chocolate Carnival wearable arts competition.........I found out yesterday my entry has been selected for judging next Tuesday.......so excited. I will let you poppets see what I made after that.

Now since we are on the subject of creating something special,  its not to late to get your entry pack for the Fabulous 'Frockstars' competition.
All you wonderful talented and super stylish poppets should have a go.
Come on spring into action.........

Love V

  2. I can't wait to see what you came up with for that Cadbury comp V! I'm wondering if you fashioned a frock that resembled a block of Dairy Milk? Nah! I'm sure your entry was much more creative and clever than that!
I love your denim smock, I'm typing this in my paint splattered tracky dacks (which, let's face it, I would probably be wearing even if I wasn't painting!) - you always look so lovely even when you're gardening!

  6. Your garden is looking awesome! I wish that our back yard were bigger and our growing season were longer. Living further north our growing season is only about 3 maybe 3.5 months. Which is why I grew my tomatoes from seeds to get a jump on planting.

  7. I'm amazed to see your bulbs sprouting already! It doesn't feel like your winter has been very long at all? Your brick-edged beds are a great idea, not only for easier access, but also to make it easier to remember what went where so you can rotate. Love the sweet pea wigwam. You and your man look so happy and comfortable working on the land, what a lovely life you have created. xxx
