'Double Frocking' for winter............

Hi Sweet-peas......

I am liking wearing dresses over dresses at the moment........a bit of 'double frocking' for winter. This wee home made rose dress was a nice find at Sallies, as was the little cream hand-knit cardigan and
the brown crochet bag is a new favourite at the moment.....from 'Modern Miss'.
I wore this to class on Saturday..............oh its so much fun.........
We have been learning to spin and this week we did some needle felting........its brilliant, next week weaving, I can't wait.
Now if I could just get this crocheting thing right.....my first attempt looks like a fur-ball a cat threw up.
Oh well...........I may not be able to double crochet but I always have double frocking.

Love V

PS: To all the lovely poppets here in NZ who have been experiencing some terrible earthquakes......
We are thinking of you and sending you a very big hug and much love.....take care. xxxxx

  2. You look doubly gorgeous in double frocks! The prints are so pretty they deserve to be seen together. I love the sweet cardigan, & of course THAT bag, but it's those brown boots I'm coveting! Hehee you know I love you in boots! My heart goes out to those being shaken up too. Love. Xx

  3. Those roses and spots look lovely together.
I laughed when I saw the butterfly on your trellis - I remember when every fashionable house had a huge fake butterfly plonked on the front!

  4. remember the 90s dress-over-pants?? that really lasted a long time....I don't remember seeing it anywhere except NZ either! p.s. I want to live where you live.

  5. when i lived in Indiana, I would double skirt in the winter. It's a fun way to keep warm, not that I need to do that now.

  6. Love it--dots and flowers together! I have thought of doubling up on my tights before, but not dresses.

And to Amy/Wildfell Hall--gals in NYC (and I think elsewhere in the US) were definitely wearing dresses over pants in the 90s! It's not a look I ever wore, but I saw it often.

I'm sorry to hear about the earthquakes. Good thoughts to all affected!

  7. Double the delight - spots and roses, perfect! You look as adorable as ever, and never has keeping warm been so sweetly glamorous.
Glad to know you are enjoying your classes. I laughed at the fur ball comment - that would be what my attempts at crochet would look like!
Eek, didn't realise there had been more earthquakes, hope everyone is safe. xxx

  9. Double frocking - brilliant! I think I may try this on a chilly winters day. You look adorable as always and we appreciate your warm words about the earthquakes. I've had enough of them, I'd be pretty happy if they left now!

  10. Double frocking?! How splendidly snuggly!
Ugh, I have tried crochet a few times, and am rather appalling at it! I still hold hope, however!

  12. You look super cute in your matching cardi and hat combo. I'd love to try needle felting, but I have a feeling that would end up the same as your crocheting. Your pussy cat and you are a double-dress delight! xxxx
