Just potting around........

Hello sweet-peas....

At "St Biddies" we are hoping to have a very large herb garden one day, so I have made a start by moving these old wash tubs to outside the front door.
I planted parsley, mint and thyme in the old tubs, and in an old bucket I put some sage from the cuttings I have had in water for a few weeks.
Mr Mao was on hand to help, and take a drink from the watering can.
It was a little chilly so it was the perfect day to wear the yummy green knit jumper I found at the Hospice shop in Dunedin last week. This is not the best colour or style for me to wear but I just loved it  and if you are just potting around who cares.

I hope you have all had the most happy weekend potting around too.......

Love V

  1. Lovely pottering pics! Going out into the garden to grab some fresh herbs is such a delicious thing. Those stone troughs are fabulous, and look at Chairman Meow, sticking his curious nose in the watering can. Perhaps Peter Rabbit is hiding in there...? xxxx

  2. That jumper looks great on you! I usually only wear cardigans too with my wee tummy rolls! Sleep tight after all that pottering. Xx

  4. Oh but I think that jumper is lovely on you. I adore it, you seem to have as good a line in knitwear as you do in dresses.

Your herb garden promises to be fantastic and how wonderful to have a furry companion and helper to hand. We are having a blast of good weather so we've been out potting too this weekend. It's lovely isn't it? I'm intrigued by your sage technique, we were only discussing whether that would work last night. I am going to try that now.

    Lovely pictures as always. xxx

  5. I love those planters. There is nothing like pottering in the garden for soothing the soul, I don't know what I'd do without a garden! I love growing herbs, rosemary is the first plant that goes into any garden I live in :-)

  6. I've got tomatoes plants with flowers already, today I may get some herd plants too. Got rosemary already growing in the garden, love the way it smells.

I've stolen the wood storage idea(if I ever get a fireplace that works) and now I'm stealing the fence.

  10. Our neighborhood cats also like drinking out of our watering pot. It's cute. We're getting ready to plant out summer veggies. I'm excited to see my tomatoes grow and produce.

  11. I do love a sweet alpine sweater and I'm rather smitten with yours being green, perfect in books and my world. As long as your comfortable and happy and yr appreciate I think it's just fine. What loveliness getting your herbs underway. Our herbs and veggie patch need a serious overall and replant, fancy a trip to Queensland Australia to help. X

  19. I love your raised bed - so nice. Your photographs are making me yearn for a garden even more, i'm not so good in knowing about herbs or at least what goes well with what but I certainly want to have a little vegetable plot down the bottom of my garden.
