When lovely things happen…………….

Hi Sweet-peas…..

A few days ago I shed some tears of pure happiness after Warren and I were given the most wonderful gift by some of the kindest poppets we have ever meet.
This truly wonderful surprise was a very cute furry red taxidermy squirrel…………..squeals of excitement now follow………..eeekkkkkk!!!!!
Look at him!!!!!!!!
He came with the name 'Nutkin' but in celebration of him joining the 'Two Squirrels Vintage' team, we have knighted him……………

'Sir Forrest Norris Nutkin'

THANK YOU
Sue, Dorian, Helen and Caitlin.

I am still a little overwhelmed by such an amazing gift.

Some other lovely things that have happened in the last week, we have bought from a very nice man the most amazing vintage pieces.
Beautiful frocks from the 30's to the 70's and some fantastic mens wear.
Mr Warren is wearing one of the check 70's western shirts above.
I have started to bring a few of the dresses in after a bit of TLC and a good wash.
It all very exciting and busy.

Oh the vintage 50's frock and matching bolero I am wearing were a lovely find from 'Tiger Lily' in Omarau, love the pattern……….happy happy dance.

Hoping you all have a special weekend filled with lovely happenings…….

This is not what it was meant to be…………………..

Hi sweet-peas………

Ok do any of you lovely poppets know where our summer has gone????

I was going to be showing you my lovely new birthday (summer) dresses……..but the weather today turned into a thunder storm, with crazy heavy rain……..so NO pretty dresses to photograph…..grrr.

So these pics are from the picnic Warren and I went on last week……..as you can see it was the most perfect summer day……rain…….terribly windy and absolutely freezing cold.
We had lunch in the car.

I did however get to wear the fabulous 50's grey wool coat I bought from 'Tiger Lily'………it was meant to go into storage till winter………nothing like an outing in the mid of January.

Naughty pesky little squirrel……………...

Hi sweet-peas……

While we were in Christchurch we had to make a special delivery to the gorgeous Miss Helga as her birthday was just around the corner……..it was so lovely to catch up with her and Mr G.
We sat chatting over a glass of wine………..Helga and I squealed with excitement over her wonderful boudoir of vintage dresses and we laughed about how she just about left her scrumptious leopard furry coat at 'Biddies' when they came to stay. I had joked about kind-napping it when they were staying.
Helga looked just too cute in the gingham blue swing dress we gave her…….happy happy birthday sweet!!!!!

So……………..
tee-hee………..

After a wee fun check of my basket upon leaving……just to make sure a sneaky little squirrel didn't leave with a 'Miss Helga' treasure.
We said our goodbyes and gave out heaps of hugs.

But………

Snigger…..

One should not trust a pesky little squirrel who has mischief on her mind and a super sneaky accomplice
to help out(it was partly an inside job) shhhhh!!!!

Hmmmm……..

So Soft……..

Naughty naughty squirrel…..

And we are back……………..hello sweet-peas…………..

Oh hello darling sweet-peas………

The little squirrels have been away having the most wonderful time with family and friends.
We headed up to Christchurch on New Years day as we had a truly wonderful celebration to attend.
The beautiful Miss Mirabel was to marry her very handsome best friend Gareth……and they did it in such a magical way.
Mirabel looked so stunning in her vintage dress bought in Paris……….squeals from me!!!!
Everything was just perfect……..the sun shone…….people smiled…..the flowers looked lovely (made by me……eeekkk)……….the air was filled with the love we all felt for this very special couple.
Warren and I feel so blessed to have been part of it all.
I wore a 1960's duchess satin cocktail dress I bought from the 'Vintage Cupboard' a year ago…….modern red suede shoes(op-shopped), beaded vintage clutch borrowed from Two Squirrels Vintage (Shhh) and to my surprise I was able to get my hair up first go.
Warren looked very dashing in his brown suit and retro sunnies.
All in all an ULTIMATE day……
